It has been quite some time since my last post on this blog. I've been to India, and likely will be going back in 2011 for business. That does not mean this site has gone dark. Over the last six+ months I've focused on tweeting interesting articles that I have come across (follow @idlewatch). I think you'll find in my tweet timeline that many of the tweets are focused on digital advertising, technology, or social media. However, there are quite a few gems from a talent & operations basis that made 2010 a good year for me to start using the social listening tools that are changing our world. In the coming weeks and months I will continue using Twitter to post interesting articles that I think are worthwhile reads. About a month ago, I won a free iPad at a company event. The theme of the event was to share what inspires us. When I found out that I was a winner, I wasn't sure at first how I would use the device. So I started to wonder how I could use the device to improve my productivity as a Talent Operations Manager (what can I say, I was inspired). After downloading a few apps, tinkering with settings (and experiencing the joy that is a full iPad/iTunes update crash and restore), I wanted to share some thoughts on a few apps that I think warrant a look for TM professionals. Jot! Free by Tabula Rasa Roambi by Mellmo.com Evernote by Evernote Corp. What was nice about each of the above is they were free iPad apps.
